Land O’Lakes, which operates some of the most respected brands in agribusiness and food production including LAND O LAKES® Dairy Foods, Purina Animal Nutrition and WinField® United, recently implemented OMP Plus for tactical Supply Chain Planning for cheese at their production sites in Spencer, Wisconsin and Pine Island, Minnesota.

OM Partners' solution went from concept to implementation with its project team assisting a core team of experts from Land O’Lakes. This resulted in the design of a value-driven planning process, focusing on the key improvement areas in their business.

The advanced planning functionality of OMP Plus now allows Land O’Lakes to plan efficiently and accurately for raw material requirements at the production sites up to 18 months in advance. The functionality also increases visibility on inventory in regional warehouses. Inventory projections are used to minimize product wastage, based on demand scenarios and considering shelf life. Furthermore, OMP Plus analyses the on-hand inventory and provides recommendations for optimum shop floor usage from a large number of possible strategies.
